3 Charged In Mercer County Narcotics, Weapons Bust

Three suspects were arrested and slapped with drug and weapons charges in a Mercer County narcotics bust last week, authorities said Wednesday.

Xaview Colon, 20 and Bashawn Newton, 28, of Trenton, as well as Jennifer Halcomb, 39, of Maple Shade, were seen in a suspected narcotics sale on Jan. 19, Trenton Police Director Steve E. Wilson said.

A follow-up investigation found Colon to be in possession of a handgun with a high-capacity magazine and a large quantity of heroin, police said.

Newton and Halcomb were also found with “significant quantities” of heroin, Wilson said.

All three face various weapon and drug charges, police said.
